Roses in a Champagne Glass

This is an oil painting imitation of Manet's "Roses in a Champagne Glass." When I was reading my book on Manet, this work of his caught my eye and I thought, "I'm painting that one no matter what."

It took me about 2 hours (I expected 3 hours).

This was also the first time using a canvas! It had a rougher surface than I expected, and the wood frame was thicker than I expected! But hey, this is for my French class and is a part of my grade. Even if I did poorly in this experiment, I would have still gotten the points~ And working with canvas is pretty awesome!
